Abstract

Cervicobrachialgia is a musculoskeletal condition characterized by neck pain radiating to the upper limb, frequently associated with functional limitations and a negative impact on quality of life. Given the high prevalence of this condition, different physiotherapy approaches have been investigated, with myofascial release standing out as a therapeutic resource. This study aimed to analyze the effects of myofascial release techniques in the management of cervicobrachialgia. This is an integrative literature review, with searches conducted in the PubMed, SciELO, and PEDro databases, including studies published between 2015 and 2024, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Studies that addressed the application of myofascial release in individuals with radiating neck pain were included, considering outcomes related to pain, range of motion, and functionality. After applying the eligibility criteria, 14 studies comprised the final sample. The results demonstrated that myofascial release promotes a significant reduction in pain, increased cervical range of motion, and improved upper limb functionality. Furthermore, when combined with therapeutic exercises, it shows superior results compared to isolated interventions. It is concluded that myofascial release is an effective strategy in the physiotherapeutic treatment of cervicobrachialgia, especially when integrated with other therapeutic approaches.
