TIEMPO DE USO DE LAS REDES SOCIALES Y DESARROLLO DE ANSIEDAD ENTRE ADOLESCENTES DE UNA ESCUELA PRIVADA

Considerando el crecimiento exponencial de las redes sociales y su amplio uso por adolescentes, tiene como finalidad verificar la relación entre el uso de redes sociales y el desarrollo de ansiedad entre adolescentes. Para ello se procede a un estudio transversal con enfoque observacional y analítico, realizado en una escuela privada de Goiânia y Anápolis, Goiás, utilizando un cuestionario sociodemográfico y el Inventario de Ansiedad de Beck (BAI). De esta manera se observa que el 61,2% utiliza redes sociales durante más de cuatro horas diarias, con predominio de plataformas como WhatsApp (83%), Instagram (96,6%) y TikTok (74,8%), las cuales se asociaron con niveles moderados a graves de ansiedad. En contraste, el uso de redes de menor interactividad, como Twitter (30,6%), se asoció menos con síntomas de ansiedad, lo que permite concluir que factores como la comparación social y la necesidad constante de validación en línea se intensifican en redes interactivas, exacerbando los síntomas de ansiedad. Estos hallazgos destacan la importancia de intervenciones preventivas para un uso más equilibrado de las redes sociales, con la participación activa de escuelas, familias y profesionales de la salud en la protección de la salud mental de los adolescentes en un entorno cada vez más digitalizado.
